Why buy a Pea Coat (peacoat). They are of high quality and made to last. They hold their shape and last for years at a time. Unlike a knitted sweater made out of yarn and is a knitted item (or knit) made to move with your body; a pea coat is made to drape over your torso/shoulders. The thick melton wool protects you from some of the elements and keeps you warm in the winter or cold weather. They are not made to be an active wear (activewear) item but more like a car coat (carcoat) when driving or walking or standing outside. We carry what's known as the Anchor Collection of Boston made by Sterlingwear Of Boston.

Years back the collection was available to the military known as the Quarterdeck Collection (quarterdeck). The last coat made by Sterlingwear Of Boston to military spec (specifications) was the black "Military Spec" coat listed on this page. The others were slight variations such as the "Navigator" with a regular nylon lining to wear as a topcoat where as the others may have a thicker lining. And some additional styles have an eight button front instead of six buttons. The other styles are the Authentic, Classic and Mariner.

A hybrid of Sterlingwear's other three pea coat designs.
Description
Swarthy seamen and savvy business people alike will feel comfortable wearing this coat. A stylized version of the U.S. Navy Peacoat, the Mariner combines the traditional U.S. Navy Peacoat with just the right amount of fashion. The eight button front, welt pockets and stand up collar provide the fashion, while the full quilted lining and 100% virgin wool melton provide the function. Fashion and function combined are what make the Mariner at home on either land or sea, be ye a sailor or stockbroker.
